Battery for JK
Currently using a optima yellow top d34 for my JKU petrol
The low batt light has just popped up, its had a good run.
Is the optima still the go-to battery?
Or is there something better or better in value?
Who selling d34 for a good price these days?

I just got a battery from Marshalls - mine died pretty much with little warning (was the original).
I think I paid $270 fitted, its a bit larger capacity than the original.....happy days. I think an Optima is going to set you back about $325, so Ebay says.....

It depends on what extra load you are running. Having a winch, fridge and work lights is why I run an optima. If I didn't have these I'd be running a standard battery.
There is no point spending big money for a battery if you aren't going to use it for anything except starting.

As nanook said.
If only using as a cranker/winch then get a Bond battery. I had one in my old patrol and it lasted 7 years. I will get one when my factory battery dies.

Apparently the optimas are not the same quality as once were. There was a good thread on one of the US JK sites about optimas. Personally I'll be going Odessey which is a lot of coin but I have a winch and fridge on a single battery. I also bought a Ctek charger for monthly maintenance.
