So far the bill is about $1500 and its still not running. Will have a look at the glow plug module. Battery is only 8 months old, checked out ok.

Can you tell us the codes? What scan tool is being used?

who's doing the work? yourself, dealer or independent.

Did the problem start after working on the Jeep (like a service) or just out of the blue?

You say it tried to start? Coughed & spluttered or just cranked over quicker?

Washed the vehicle, moved it back to the driveway, and it didnt start again. It just kept turning over without firing. A private mechanic is looking at it, and specialty is mercs. He got it running today took for test drive, and switched it off. And guess what...... it wont start again. Somewhat frustrating for him now! Will try to get copy of the codes to list here.

What type and brand of code reader should I buy to suit the wh? This might be a handy tool to have around instead of relying on mechanics to let me know what codes are being displayed. I appreciate the help and experience one can get here on this site.

Now the furl pump in the fuel tank needs to be replaced ascitvis running hot after 20minutes. When will it end? The cost is going to be expensive as thefuel pump came from the states, annoying as I found new ones in Victoria to suit my vehicle. Awaiting the next installment. ?.
