Just come into a new issue. My brake pedal has gone spungy. It sinks to the floor. When I pump the pedal it firms up but then sinks to the floor again. Can't see any leaking fluid as yet. Is there a known issue?

I know of only one master cylinder failure on a grand & that was user Cherokee30D. Maybe the brake fluid has absorbed some water while sitting for 2 years & just needs a flush. They use DOT3 fluid.

Would water create the loss of compression? I know water would create corrosion due to brake fluid being highly hygrascopic. Jeep say it's the master cylinder after diagnosis. Correct on the sitting around part. Lets just hope they are 100% and it's nothing more. But they also want $980 to replace. They reckon 4hrs. I call BS. 2hrs max. Also $150/hr?!!! That's worse than Toyota and THEY know how to charge. Highway robbery much?

Yeah they found leak-by in the primarystage of the master cylinder. I luckily found an alternative repairer to rebuild the factory unit. $137 for a kit + 2hrs labour @ $110/hr to remove & replace. $357 is a farcry from $980 quoted.

Not sure if this is a common fault or not but I have a coolant leak coming from the valley of the v , underneath the turbo near inlet manifold , it's pretty hard to tell
