Also wondering if this is still happening. My xj has done this a few times I have though it might have been a boost leak but maybe I'm having the same problem.

Started to use my Jeep three weeks ago after fixing the radiator which broke down in December (it was -29 degrees C outside). For some reason it has not stopped since I got it going again. Maybe it like summer better than the freezing winter

At the moment my thoughts are that the injectors might need to be bled.i can't remember the post but a forum member found the manual for the vm ecu or the drb III guide for the xj. Either way he said that if there was air trapped in the injectors for some unknown reason (playing with the return lines, a leak, have run out of fuel etc etc) the difference in pressure ( from the injector pump and the filter) could be picked up by the ecu and could trigger the car to stall. I'll find the docco and post it up if its not already in the sticky. An ecu issue would explain heaps as I don't think this is a mechanical problem

I suspect that the ECU may be broken since I feel that I have changed or verified all the sensors that controls the IP loop could think of

CPS(new)
Throttle Pedal (new)
Injector sensor No 1(measured and tried to disconnect and car goes into limp mode)
MAP (measured and and tried to disconnect and car goes into limp mode)
Temp sensor on engine block(disconnect and it goes into limpmode)
Relay (Changed)

I have not changed the return lines from the injectors since they "look" OK and since it always stops when releasing the throttle quickly

Nice if you post the bleeding howto which I can try
