From my past experience space savers are still the same rolling diameter just a narrower width. I remember having them in my cars in New Zealand but never heard of them before that mostly seemed to be a Japanese import thing

I agree. LF wears the most, RR the least so it would make sense to rotate the mirror of the attachment.

Neither have I in all the years I've been driving. Didn't want to say it though in case I jinked myself

But if LF wears the most doesn't it make sense to do the same as the picture and put that one as the spare next??

I do exactly as per that pic and have for 35 years, it was the way my dad taught me. All 5 tyres have equal time on all 4 corners so wear is even and would be if you did reverse of that too.

When I traded the Wrangler I had 53000km on the Duratracs and they all had 11mm of the original 14mm tread remaining. Whilst the missus was working close to home, 12km trip with 17 roundabouts each way, I rotated every 5000km. Once she changed jobs and was doing 35km each way of nearly all highway I dropped back to 10000km.

Current Cherokee is at 31000 on its Duratracs and rotated twice so far in the same pattern again. Barely noticeable wear on any tyre.
