Drained front diff, swapped out the cv yoke for the uni-joint one. Removed L/H front driveshaft and fitted a new boot kit. Re-assembled and re-filled diff with new oil.

Another thing ticked of my RWC list.

(Also test drove it for the first time with a front shaft. Sounds like the 249 is AOK..Phew, I was a little worried the VC was stuffed)

Default overhauled front drive shaft new wheel bearing hubs and front rotors

I got my front drive shaft back from Hardy Spicer totally overhauled. They replaced all three uni joints and the "c-v" joint, fitted a grease nipple to the slip joint, re-balanced it and gave a nice paint job.
I finally fitted it just in time to go away on a 4wd club trip on the Australia day long weekend.
I also fitted new front rotors (they were slightly warped) and new front wheel bearing hub assemblies before this trip and everything is now much quieter and breaks how it should.

Left mine at Panel bashers today to get the hail damage removed, if the missus had stayed where she was it would have been a write off and we could have gone car shopping for Xmas. 2 weeks with a VW Jetta hire car aarrgghh, I hope they are quick.
