Default ZJ: Project on 33 Muds... pics

Ok, the 33's are not on yet. But from the pics you can see how NOT so easy this project is going to be. I've got a 2.5" of lift on it now and there is no way 33's are going to fit.

This months jobs...

Fit RE 3.5" lift with 4cm extra spacers which should bring it to about a 5" of lift.

Major drivetrain overhaul

Fronts: 4.56 Superior gears, all new bearings, tube seals, Yukon chromoly 4340 inners and outers with Super Joints (like CTMs). HDuty u-bolt type pinion yoke (which gets rid off the cv on the yoke). It already has an ARB air locker in it.

Rears: 4.56 Gears too, new bearings and seals, 30 Spline ARB airlocker with chromoly axle shafts. Also replacing the rear pinion yoke with u-bolt type that eliminates the weak orginal straps.

Both diffs trussed.

ProRock front adjustable (double heim joint) panhard

Rock sliders (custom made).

And when I got more green stuff...

Hanson front winch bar.
Warn 9.5Ti winch

Will update as more develops...

bilt4mud[/QUOTE]

I am sure most people wouldnt understand or even notice this but these axle and U-Joint are not in the same class as CTMs. CTM are the hightest quality possible, in a class of their own and each unit is done with pride. Expensive in the short term but valued for life!

My rant over but this is not a like with like comparison!

McZook... I said "like", not the "same".

I have two rigs which I abuse regularly, one has CTMs (D44) and the other runs the Super Joints (D30). Both have earned my respect. Don't get me wrong, the Super Joints I use don't have needle bearings, I know there are so called Super Joints which are forged versions of the 297x with needle bearings, it's not them.

I'm only running 33's, I don't think I'll break the SuperJoints. Plus I get an unbeatable deal on them.

Thanks for your comments.
