Default New JKU owner Hills, Sydney

Hi guys

New JKU owner in the Hills area of Sydney. Hit some tame trails and the beach so far, but looking to build my jeep up ready for some tougher challenges.

Looking at getting a Safari snorkel (Quoted about $850 installed) and a front bar initially. (Recovery gear /jack etc too)

Any recommendations for bars other than TJM / ARB?

Does the ride height reduce enough to require adding spacers / lift once the bar is installed?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Liam

Hi Liam, I have the ARB bar and didn't get a lift for 6 months, it was fine. If you want a different bar look at the Uneek bar http://www.uneek4x4.com.au/jeep-jk-bull-bar/.

I personally don't like the Safari snorkel, it's expensive and I don't like how it fits, you should be able to get an AEV snorkel for around $650 fitted and the fitting is much better imo.

the AEV snorkel does look better. I bought one from Shents Automotive (formally Double Black NSW), i paid $550 delivered. I actually installed it myself. Shents is Automotive is located in Wyong. if you want to have a look at how both the ARB bar and AEV snorkel looks, check out my pic:

man, i live and work around the Hills area, and i'm seeing a lot of awesome looking JKs in the area!

Thanks for your advice mate. I like the look of the Uneek bar and at 42kg shouldn't drop it too much.

Just waiting to hear back on a quote to supply and install the bar and the AEV snorkel from Macquarie 4x4 in Windsor. I'll post the quote once received.

Cheers

Liam

Thanks for the picture mate. Your jeep looks awesome! I'll keep a look out for yours, although it would be hard to miss! My black JK is pretty much stock at the moment but will change the wheels to black and add the bar and snorkel as soon as I have time.

Where do you take yours?

Well the last trip was at Mt Walker - actually the first time ever was when my JK was stock and it was pretty capable. i was surprised. then the last trip, was with the mods, and i carved it up! Actually saw the Sydney jeep Club there, but i was with another group. The only other place i've been to is Zig Zag and around Kurrajong. and some times "secretly" at the drop zone near penrith.
