I was thinking cool at first. Would it just be a future leak site?

I'm thinking fine. So long as they flow. Don't over tighten em. They are used on brakes.
Barbed ends are more simple though.

Cheers for that. Agreed on the simplicity. I'm going with barbs.

Found some sturdy ones through a fuel injection mob. Just the ticket. $10 ea, but they want $6.95 ea for postage!!!

I'm goin to hit 'em up for combined postage, a barb only weighs a few grams for gods sake.... they're only comin from Perth.

cheers

Default What did you do to your XJ today ?

Biggest PITA job this week, fixing the wiring loom in the tailgate. So fiddly and no room to work with.. At least you can stand to do the job!
The reason my 3rd brake light wasn't working - took the lamp out to find this:

Before (after cutting away the rubber sheath, this is indeed how I found it):

After solder, hear shrink and tape:

Also got the bar mounted up, (ahem 18W) DRLs wired up and pink slipped.

The LEDs are a bit too bright at night, thinking to switch them off with low beams via a relay.

I've just been playin around with the roof console. Changed positions for the UHF. Seeing as I can't get the trip computer working, I decided to remove it and instal the UHF there. A neat fit. I'll upload a pic later.
And where the switch panel was, for the computer, I'm installing a .... switch panel.
Relocating the e-fan and spotty switches, and adding a switch for rear power and rear work/spot/reverse/camping/feckoffyoumoron light.

Goin shoppin tomorrow, in the next town, to get some hose barbs/tail ends, $13 ea, and NO POSTAGE DAMMIT!!! could order 'em in, got 'em over night. .
Goin to look at different paint mediums also.

More to come...

cheers
