They typically drop valve seats because the aluminium casting has lost some or all of its heat treatment 'temper' so they are usually not worth fixing used heads.

Do a search online for the pain and grief that others have had to endure after having these heads repaired.

Buy some new castings from good ole uncle sam whilst the dollar is holding up, they are quite reasonably priced.

v8val : I found it, suburban imports, reco heads, 550 each

alexski: I had a pair of 4.7 heads reco'd by headworx in gosford $550 for the pair. 1 of my originals was cracked so I got another stock one off ebay for $150 used.

Thanks guys that's a decent price from suburban imports. Also I found a place at the gold coast on eBay $1750 new castings with head bolts, gaskets, and all new valves.
Only thing is it's a HO engine but from what I've read online airram performance says apart from the HO cast in they don't look or flow any different.
Will have to do more research. Local bloke quoted 2750 today to rebuild with all new valve seats $$$

Changed the leather cover on the driver's seat and fixed the heating, just in time for summer.

How does one remove the leather and where does one buy a replacement?

Take the seat out of the car, there are bolts on each side to remove the seat back so that you can remove the bottom cover.

To remove the bottom cover: unclip from all sides, lift one side and carefully pull out one of the 3 wires which hold on the cover. Repeat for the other side then for the front.

For the seat back, the cover is velcroed on, so you need to carefully undo the velcro and then the cover slides off with some effort.

I bought my covers and steering wheel from somebody breaking a WG with the seats in very good condition.
