Arrow JK Unlimited front axle uni joint replacement

Hello all, Wrangler JK owner here, I was wondering if anyone knows the correct front axle uni Joint part/part number required for replacement. Our mechanic has the Toyo RUJ 3002 uni joint but I don’t think that is the right one. Our Jeep is a 2009 JK Unlimited Wrangler 4 door 3.8 litre petrol. I went through every uni joint at Repco and they all said they don’t fit our vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Chris

From memory, I got mine from Rockauto: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ll+joint,10070

For the 2009: https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ll+joint,10070

Shipping can add a lot to the price since it's sent by courier, (though it's usually still much cheaper than the stealership even for genuine parts), and typically I get parts from them in just over a week.

Having a quick look, I suspect the RUJ3002 is for the drive shaft from the transfer case.

If you are talking about the joint in the axle out at the wheel hub, it depends on what diff you have.
For a D44 you will probably need a
DANA SPICER 5-7166X Front Axle U-joint. Maintenance Free

Fits JEEP JK RUBICON and UNLIMITED RUBICON with DANA 44 Front

If you have a D30 its a different U-joint.

Goddamnit! I got my head stuck on ball joints not uni-joints.

Pretty sure I got them from Rockauto as well...

If your talking about the U-Joint on the front drive shaft is tack welded in and is not classified as a replaceable part. Jeep wants you to replace the whole front drive shaft.
However if you take the drive shaft to a specialist shop they can tack weld a new one in and rebalance the shaft. That's what I did with mine on my 2007 built 2.8CRD JKU, plus they can replace the 'can' at the other end, worth doing while its there. Get then to fit a Spicer which they may have to order in, as I initially got a cheaper one fitted that was available and only lasted 2 years.
Its worth removing at the axle end every couple of years to check the flex / rotation as they can partially stick and it not obvious until it wares out the front pinion bearings in the axle. (Been there )

If your taking about the axel shaft U-Joints just had mine done. Just had 56,000kms on them and each one was only articulating smoothly one way due to rusty pin bearings.
If it is for the front axel, Spicer Universal Joint kit 5-760X for DANA 30 in eg. a Sahara https://jeepey.com/product/u-joint-a...26638sp5-760x/

If you've got a Rubicon with a 44 axel probably this one https://jeepey.com/product/axle-u-jo...joint-5-7166x/

Thanks for replies, axle shaft U-joints replaced now and yes they are the Dana spicer 5-760X, I got them from SRB off road in WA. They arrived via overnight freight and 3 hours to fit by Newcastle Gearbox & Diff, they’re good those guys. Funny as the Cessnock Jeep dealer told me the U-joints would take 3 months to arrive from the US and the only option was to replace whole front axle assembly. A good laugh

3 months from the USA sounds about right for a dealer. When I order parts from Rockauto or others, they typically deliver in a week by courier. (And it is still much cheaper than the stealership prices!)
