Hey burmonster, to be honest I think your mad buying those tyres. You could spend that money to improve your offroad ability buy leaps and bounds in other ways. And to consider trailering a second set of wheels/tyres around for anything other than competing is even more ludicrous. Get some tyres you don't have to worry about being legal and
Buy a locker instead.

i understand and respect ur opinion, and i do see wat you mean, but buying a locker atm is not really wat i want, i mean it is, but id want to do ratios, and rebuild the front diff while i was doin it all ( i got a recently rebuilt rear diff), and if i was gonna spend the money on the diffs id want a d44. im getting the tyres very cheap, and adding up the costs of getting a locker and ratios and rebuilds and a d44, its way way more than im paying for the tyres. heck just the tyres im getting r cheaper than most lockers
i was only thinking of trailering the tyres to make them last for ages, i would get the best of onroad comfort and handleing and safte and wear, and the best traction offroad. and the muddies would last a very long time.
i guess im young and stupid
if i listened to all the good advice iv recieved from older wiser people, id be in a toyota right now
thanks

Haha I'm not much if any older than you, and if your getting them cheap just drive them to where your going to wheel. They will still probably out last your car, ie you'll sell it, kill it, go bigger.
And yea your right about ratios while doin locker that's what I'm looking at now

Simex Centipedes on a D35 is asking for trouble. They'll be comparatively heavy being a bias tyre and with that tread on them don't spin them as if the grip suddenly, and they will, its going to be bye bye rear axle.

Cheers
Steve

i guess ill find out when they get here, but wat are peoples thoughts on: if i am goin campng/4x4ing for the weekend, and covering, lets say 600kms, should i trailer the muddies and change them when i get there, or just drive the 600kms on them??
takeing into account wear, safety, comfort on a long ride, and the PITA of changeing tyres all the time and carting a trailer around??
thanks

I've ran pedes on my XJ on and off for the last two years now, mainly putting them on for wheeling then taking them off again. Occasionally I was super lazy and left them on for a week or so until they got that dam annoying that they had to come off. 600kms on the road will wear them real fast and it'll be the most annoying 6 hours of your life.
They are a great tyre off road but road duties wear them out really quick, the fronts will heal and toe pretty quick down the centre and the shoulders may scrub off on the edges so you'll have to swap them front to back.
Fine for short trips but after the first couple of days the air plane gets annoying quickly.
