Its a damn shame the aust govt is just becoming a copy cat, subsiduary of the united nations ..... instead of being a thinking representative of this nation and its real needs. .....

ADRs are already full of euro specs applied to aust vehicles .... have been for years ..... Makes you wonder why we cant have an open speed limit on certain roads like in euro too ....

Personally .... banning bullbars doesnt worry me .....

.... as long as theres legislation in place that forces carmakers to provide complete front ends/repairs for the same money I spend on a bullbar .... and theres also free taxis, immediately available, to collect me from my non bullbar protected wreck, parked in the table drain ... so I can complete my journey without delay.

Really?
How many roos have you hit?

Does anyone here seriously expect front protection barwork to be banned?

We're talking about the Australian Government here, thanks to Wiki-Leaks we know just how easy they were ready to cave into Japan over the whole Whaling issue... I'm embarrassed we've got pussies at the helm!

Oh yeah survey filled!

Im pretty sure that even the govt understands not to "ban" them .... even despite the badgering from time wasting, minority anti bullbar, groups or individuals.

What they can do tho ..... is keep imposing design limits on vehicles and accessories so that fitting approved design styles, is in the end .... a wasted effort by an owner wanting to protect their investment.

If the investment cant be adequately protected by the owner .... due to govt control and constant changes to pre-existing circumstances ..... Then someone else besides the owner, should be up for the cost of repairs that could be avoided by having a throwaway component like a decent bullbar fitted .... the anti bullbar lobby perhaps ????

Filled it out.

Can't believe they would consider something like this. The European reg's are too strict anyway, even for Europe, but you can see why they have them. After all, bull bars or the likes are basically cosmetic accessories over there so pedestrian safety should take precedent over that. It's different here though where they are a necessity for outback travel and with a far smaller population and fewer cars on the road the risk of pedestrian impact is not as high anyway.

There's no way they could ban them. More people would be endangered in the outback that are saved in the cities and it would put a big hole in the after market industry as well.
