What Jeep'ers said

Some info here (don't take the fitment guide as gospel as its USA spec, may be different in Straya).

If you’re going to go through the process of regearing I’d buy new and I’d buy once... what size tyres are you running? Auto or manual? Which engine do you have?

I’ve been going through the process of regearing myself and have learned a lot over the past two months...

Thanks for the heads up and the link. I'm running 265/65/17 and it's a manual diesel 4 door. I was going to run 4.11 https://www.sbroffroad.com.au/Revolu...-Dana-30-Gears

Do I need to change the the carrier?

At that size tyre with the diesel torque why would you? Is that you want more power?

No you don’t need to change the carrier unless you’re going to lock as well?

If you’re staying at that size tyre the recommendation I’ve had is no need or if you’d like to improve power then 4:11

I’ve gone to 35x12.5xR17 and have gone to 4:88s to improve economy and a little power. I run the 3.6 manual jku with bars and so on... I also have locked the rear and left the front unlocked as I have the standard d30 up front and have been told by a few retailers and mechs that I’ll break more than I need to if I lock 4:88s on a dirty 30
