Had a GQ patrol. Only reason i sold it was cause it chewed fuel a lot worse than the jeep does. I do miss the room in the back though as i could throw a single mattress in the back and go camping. Main reason i bought the jeep was that Nissan or Toyota dont make shorties anymore otherwise i probably would have ended up with a shorty GU patrol.

1st car was a '89 VN Commodore Wagon.
Looked stock as, but had about $4k worth of stereo gear filling the back. How fun.
Lost my licence, then.
2nd car. '87 E32 (the 87-94 shape) 735i BMW. It have been retrofitted by a previous owner up to '92 specs.
That got dropped with H&R/Bilstein, 18" wheels with rubber band 245/275 tyres.
I loved that car. But cost of repairs vs declining value was wearing thin. and a few close calls with the Plod >200kph woke me up.

Then found that 4wds can be fun, and legal too! (well...mostly)
Was after a HZJ75, but found the Jeeps were actually in my price range, and just as good. Or better if you beleive my tojo-driving mate!

previously a soft top fj40.
rough ride, rough idle, no a/c or pwr steer, looked a bit crappy.etc

wanted all of the above fixed, and in a soft top.. choice was clear!

*unfortunately i have now got out of the wrangler thing (have a wj to drive)... until the new model comes
