Double shear spacer, one original mounting point used, nobody wanted to drive on the same roads as me...I wonder where those people are now...
Was that on here Adrian? Tell me more.

Water under the bridge now, I've gone way offtopic already.

Now to ask the important questions, could the fuzz give you a hard time because of the brake setup?

the general fuzz are turds and most wouldnt know a brake caliper from their left buttock

what would concern me is Insurance liability in the unfortunate event of a major accident, unless an engineers cert had been approved ?

dude I know is an expert mechanic, does inspections for Insurance AND Police. He measures and records brake caliper thickness. I cannot imagine any non-stock modification escaping his expert gaze.

great site go-jeep, i refer to it many times

You will only be in trouble if what you did to your jeep caused or contributed to an accident .
So if your jeep brakes in a straight line and does not lock up (skid) sooner than a stock XJ on good brakes and stock tyres does and stops over a shorter distance or the same distance. There will be no problem with liability .

It will need to be proven ,prefably before the shit hits the fan ,why it would be cheaper to go through an engineer first rather than after an accident when it will get very expensive.

I respectfully cannot entirely agree

http://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/documents/...ent-manual.pdf

note point 6 (fitting multi piston caliper)

An Insurance company will not finalise payment if they have a an issue with liability. They ALL have a clause which states you must be ADR compliant (and other clauses).

If something bad enough happens, they can deny or contest liability and a court case may ensue

having said that, these brakes are obviously superior to OEM, so they may decide NOT to go to court

I have never had any trouble since fitting these back in 2011 here in Victoria because the police probably think they are the cheap plastic cover ones you see!
But the letter of the law would mean a engineers certificate and why I wont be selling the XJ registered. Also why I never looked at selling these as a kit as been for my XJ only.
Did sell my prototype brackets to someone wanting them overseas though, in Malaysia from memory.

In my view your vehicle is iconic, has provenance, and is very well setup.

I would call it a historic & collectable example, and I hope you do not break it up.

In my opinion, it is worth a premium based on the above.

So therefore, it should be worth the cost off "add-ons" + stock vehicle cost +
premium for excellence. Labor is most often costed at $0!

I was watching one of those stupid "Cop" real life shows...and they "profile" drivers of older 4wd!!

Even my wife has been pulled in it. I have been pulled multiple times, and am sick & tired of it. The last dickhead wanted to shoot me by the time we had finished
