Default Pre-update FOB

Hi All,

I just dropped and smashed my remaining key fob, and I am wondering where I can get another one. Doesn't have to be OEM. Some of these things retail for exorbitant cost.

Cheers

Second hand ones come up from time to time on ebay. One of mine (update) didnt work because the rubber bit was damaged, so I got a good second hand one & put my circuit board in it. Its been good for a number of years. You would probably need to win lotto to get a new one from a stealer.

Install an aftermarket security system. I had to when my fob died. Annoying as hell but worth it. Apparently majority of jeep wreckers won't have them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I rarely travel to the city, but I wouldn't be game to leave my uhf aerial on, or the car unlocked, especially in any car park. Having young kids and hands always full, it is convenient to use the key fob. Also, I have locked myself out of my car when my keyfob has had a dead battery and I used the central locking. Fortunately, I was not far from my spare key.
