I thought I had it in one of my books at home but couldnt find it best I could find was all jeep models are between 3.8 and 8 positive and it varrys for each model within this range

I have a gut feeling it is 5 deg +/- 1 but please dont quote me give someone like USA 4x4 a call Tony will be able to tell you for sure Hammonds should also be able tp tell you

most alignment shops have a book with almost every cars specs so check with the place that is measuring it for you also

thanks, might have to take it to hammonds I think, steering definatly has never felt good, all tie rods and spring bushes are new and everything tight, has no on center feel and wanders all over, was thinking of just adding a couple of ome caster correction shims to see if it improved, might just do that, 19 dollars for a pair of shims is better than what a workshop would charge to look at it lol

sounds like your issue alright

$19 for the shims sounds cheap are these steel or alloy ? I have heard of stories about the alloy ones cracking but never have seen it myself

they should come in a range of angles so you really do need to get a full wheel alignment done first ask them for the actual castor angle as some will only provide the delta from stock unless you ask for it. Find out your current castor angle then it will be clear how many degree the shims should be.

You can install the yourself pretty easy but you need the wheel aglinment to get the actual measurement to start with. You will need to do another wheel alignment one you install the shims incase anything has moved

the ome shims are alloy, I bought a pair for the lift I'm doing on my xj cherokee at the moment, and yeah I could see they may be prone to crack, steel would be better, thanks for the advice as soon as the cherokee is going I'll take the cj down to hammonds to check wheel alignment, they might even have steel shims,
