Default Can I turn on the radio without turning on the power?

1. I am waiting for my wife. Can I turn on the radio without turning on the power?

2. Can I turn off the screen in the night time if it is distracting?

3. If I turn off that screen, can I leave the radio on?

5. If I close the tailgate manually, will that damage the tailgate mechanism?

1. The radio needs accessory power on. It times out and switches off within half an hour or so.

2. Mine has a ‘screen off’ button near the air con controls. It doesn’t actually turn the screen off altogether, rather it turns it black - it’s still lit, but black - much less distracting at night time. You just tap the screen itself to reactivate it.

3. Radio and everything else remains fully functioning when you press the ‘screen off’ button.

4. Windows need power on.

5. You won’t damage the tailgate by closing manually, but the latch that holds it closed is electric too, and if it gets ‘confused’ by being manually closed, it won’t necessarily lock shut after being closed manually - check before driving off!
