I was reading through the Service Manual section on how to replace them, it seems very easy for DIY (if your reasonably fit). The tricky part is making sure you do not torque the bolts up until you have a load on the arms. As with all suspension parts, they need to be torqued up under load, ie, on the ground. In this case its 163NM for the front and rear bolts on the LCAs. Not easy trying to put 163NM of torque on those LCA bolts when your underneath with a torque wrench, maybe an adjustable torque ratcet gun would be fine. I wonder if they go to that trouble at a Dealer Service centre, ie, do they have a pit where they can get underneath and properly torque the LCAs or are they just torquing them up hanging on a hoist? The eventual squeaking would drive me crazy.

Easy to torque suspension nuts/bolts on a hoist (easier than in a pit IMO)
All you need to do is jack up which ever end you are working on till it takes the weight to simulate the car being on the ground and swing the spanners.
Weather they do it this way remains to be seen

Probably you could put a jack under the torque wrench & jack up to the required torque.
At the stealer, if you are luck enough to have an apprentice doing it, it would probably be done properly as they have not had the chance to learn too many bad habits.

picked up mine from the dealer today
got new shiny black arms.
good timing on recall too, as i was looking to replace them in hope of fixing my steering wander issues at high speeds. which the new arms seems to have fixed so i was on the right track.
that's in brissy.
they never said anything about inspection, the job sheet said straight away to replace before they even had a look at the car.
i did get rolled with a recall on the fuel tank though at the same service center few years ago. the one where they were supposed to install free tow hitch. they just inspected it and said it was fine.

Did you already have a towbar???? If not, they definitely should have put on the rear collision bar, looks like the towbar, but without the hitch part. If you don't have that, your not safe in a rear end collision, fuel tank just gets crushed.

Finally getting my U38 recall done here at Redcliffe. Was stuffed around with parts for a while, hence the delay. No inspection was required, as they are just replacing the part.

didn't have the towbar before.
i'll need to get down and check if they actually put anything. i must admit i didn't look too hard. i was expecting the actual towbar, so when i didn't see one i just went 'oh well'
