Default stuck key fob

Not having posted much on this forum, I do find the inputs very informative.

Key fob of 2010 GC 5.7hemi got stuck with no dash lights, no start etc.
Agent told me that most probably the WIN module must be replaced, but new modules are no longer manufactured. Also suggested to remove the steering lock, since this could also be the fault.

Searching the internet, it seems that the WIN modules are available.
Also found "fix" by stripping the WIN module and removing the fob lock shaft that will allow fob to be removed. Also seems to fix the "no start", but this sounds strange.
Also why will removing the steering lock solve the problem?

Then also possible a small switch in the Shifter Interlock could be the problem.

Any suggestions?

Just now opened up the WIN module, real easy. The lock pin that I mentioned is on the SRT8 modules, not on the GC.
Sprayed some contact cleaner and refitted. Working fine.

The initial key fob stuck was solved by disconnecting the battery and doing a hard reset and waiting some 20min. So not sure if the time delay or reset solved it.

But, I will try to get another WIN module with at least one functioning fob.

I am not going to have the steering lock removed, since I dont think it will solve any thing, only costing me money, since the ECU/PCM must be reprogrammed to remove the steering lock.

I am going to strip and check the shifter micro switch that gives a P indication to the system. Quite a long task to get to this switch, done it on my previous Jeep.
