Default Is it possible to put coil in upside down?

HI all

I recently replaced my rear bump stops and had to take out the coils to do so. It was serviced straight afterwards and I've now gotten it back and everytime I go over a bump, the rear left has a 'clunking' noise.

I've thought maybe I installed the coil upside down, but how would I know? Is it even possible to install them upside down?

I'm off to Fraser in a week, so a weird noise in the rear doesn't fill me with much happiness.....

Most coils have a product number stamped on one of the coil windings, I have always installed mine in the direction that allows the product number to be read right side up. In the case of CRDSTU supplied coils his name is sometimes stamped on them and that can be used as an indicator. As far as the rears are concerned I believe there is a mounting right side up as the lower rubber spring perch and the top plate are different. It's pretty easy to pop out one rear if you want to swap it around.
