What Jeep do I drive?: KK
Default KK Cherokee from WA

Hey guys thought I would post up some pics of my modified KK.

I bought my Jeep as a demo this time last year and started changing it a month later.. First got rid of the big surfboard looking things they called "mudflaps" and replaced them with jeep items out of the states..

I have since also lifted it using a efs 2" lift kit to make way for the black procomp series 98 rims (-6mm offset 4.25 backspace 16x8"). I fitted 265/70 r 16 Cooper ST's to it.. They rubbed a little on the frame behind the nice felt gaurd, that was soon modified aswell. Now the frame work is the same shape as the gaurd and the tyres are rolling around no troubles..

I have future plans to do some interior creature comforts and maybe other 4x4 equipment but for now it looks tough and feels alot more sure footed off road..

Take it easy

Lookin' good Simmo, the KK's look awesome with a lift and some chunky rubber...

Did you do the lift yourself? It's on my to do list, just need to save the $

The KKs are a truely an under rated Jeep. After owning a JK for a year or so - I wish I had bought a KK in the first place.

Cheers guys...

Ben: Na didn't do the lift myself but its easily done if your up to it. As you know the back is easy as..

To do the front needs the battery and air box out. Then theres 4 bolts on the upper strut. I dont know much about other lift kits but the EFS one needed you to take the upper of the strut off and bolt it to the new shock. Then the bottom of the new shock bolts to the twin leg on the bottom of the strut which is factory as well. So basically all the changes is the middle section of the strut and the spring. When you look at it with the wheel off it becomes pretty straight forward..

Simmo, KK looks very sweet. Am thinking of getting a 2nd hand one at the moment as a development mule. As someone said above, they're a VERY underated 4WD. Like the KJ, with the right mods they're a weapon off road for an IFS vehicle.

Looking forward to seeing more lifted KK's out there

Simmo, I'm also Perth based. Had a 2.5" lift from CRD Stu, couldn't be happier. I'll start fitting the bull bar this weekend. I'm a bit apprehensive but I should be OK if I follow Ben Taylor's detailed How To.

I also bought a GME TX3440 which I'll fit, once again following Ben's instruction.

Agreed. Wish more people understood this and were into modifying their KKs for lots of off-road fun.
