3.8 Starts then stalls
Quick check to see if anyone else has had this issue - my 3,8 JKU has been intermittently starting then immediately stalling again.
Checked fault codes and got PO513 - which is either the incorrect immobiliser key or I did see one reference to the Idle control module which would seem more likely....
Thought I'd see if anyone knows of an easy fix before I take it in and let the dealer stuff something else up under warranty....

Can't directly help but that's consistent with an immobilizer issue.
The way the systems work is because there's a slight delay in reading the key etc the engine is allowed to start and then if the security system isn't happy it will kill it.
For example if you swap ECU's that's exactly what happens, fires then stops because of incorrect VIN's in the electronics causing a security issue.
Could be something as simple as a flat battery in the key ?

Simple test - swap with the other key and see if problem persists?
Sent from a tiny keyboard with fat fingers, apologies for my spelling. .

Interesting - I had ruled out the key pretty much as I figured it wouldn't let it turn over if the key wasn't sending the right code!

Will give that a go tonight - temps have just dropped overnight quite a bit - might be enough for the battery in the key to drop enough voltage....

Mines still under warranty for now..... but I have to agree about them - every time I've been to the dealer its taken multiple visits to get anything sorted.....(even normal servicing)
