Default Which tyres

Hey guys, I am getting some new tyres for my XJ 245/70R17 with a 2 inch lift.
I have narrowed it down to 3 choices,
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2
Cooper S/T Maxx
Maxxis AT980 Bravo
The reason for choosing these 3 tyres is that I want a capable off road tyre, yet still want a nice daily driver.
I want the tyres to be reasonably quiet and handle well on the road, both in the dry and in the wet, whilst being capable off road.
That is the reason for choosing a 50/50 type tyre. I will be going off road most weekends but still need it as a daily driver.
Which of these 3 would you recommend?
Which is the strongest tyre/Which is the best off road?
Which is the best on road/quietest and best handling?
Are the BFGoodrich and Coopers worth the extra over the Maxxis?

Your help is much appreciated

Cant comment the the AT980 pattern but I have been running Maxxis Bighorn MT762 in a 30/9.5 15 on my XJ for 70,000 km now and cant fault them. Great wet road grip, fantastic offroad and still have prob another 8 to 10,000km left in them. Yes they are noisy but I'm more just letting you know how happy I've been with the Maxxis tyres. I've even just put a set of the high performance Maxxis I-Pro tyres on my Wifes car and they are also fantastic. I've had Mickey Thompsons, Yokohama's & Pirelli's on the XJ previously and the current Maxxis have out performed all of them on a longevity and value basis.

I have called up some local tyre shops and the price for the 980's in my tyre size are around the $280-$290 range per tyre.
Bfgoodrich are around $320 and the Cooper are around $380.
I was recommended the Maxxis by the tyre shop I have known for a long time.
So by all recommendations I am inclined to go with the Maxxis.

Hey guys, I have a question regarding tyre sizes.
Am I able to fit 265/65r17 on a 17x8 with 4.5 back spacing with no trimming.
If not, how much trimming would I need to do?

They are pretty close to a 31" tyre so will need additional bump stopping & trimming to not rub. Have a look here and scrolll down to Tyres/Wheels and have a read of the threads in there. Plenty info. http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com/forum/...ad.php?t=64361
