Default CJ5 Diffs

I am about to pull the Diffs out of my CJ5. It looks like I have a disc brake, wide track Dana 30 up front and a drum brake narrow track Dana 44 in the rear. The CJ came with what I was told was a wide track AMC 20 to replace in the rear. After measuring the leaf spring hangers, the D30 and D44 are 27.5” (approx 700mm) from hanger to hanger. The AMC is about 35.4” (approx 900mm) hanger to hanger.

So.... what is this AMC 20 out off? It obviously won’t fit my CJ without moving the leafs out a long way.

Secondly, has anyone ever ran a wide track Diff up front and a narrow on the rear. Looks to be about 3” difference in track.

Trying to get this CJ on the road as quick as possible. If I run miss matched tracks, I will replace down the track.

Looks like my spare Diff is a narrow track CJ7 Diff with 11” drum brakes.

Has anybody driven with a wide track front and narrow track rear. Does it handle OK.

Also does anyone have a wide track Dana 44 or AMC 20 to suit a CJ5 for sale or know wher I could get one.
