Viscous fan thread?
Hi Guys
I have a 2000 XJ Cherokee 2.5 td and I’m trying to remove the viscous fan hub.
So far it hasn’t moved with tool to hold the pully and 36mm spanner.
The manual says it’s a right hand thread and to undo counter clockwise from the front vehicle?
Can someone confirm this before I get tough on it!
Cheers Andrew

That makes sense and that’s the way I’m going. Just have to get some more leverage on it then.
Cheers

Its easy, the second head is just behind the first one. XJ diesels have 4 separate heads, one for each cylinder. The first head is easy to remove. You can do it without removing the manifolds. The second third & forth require a lot more work.
