Default Clunks and thumps

Hi All,

Well last friday I went to Stockton for the second time but this time with the 30x9.5's on. Anyway, I eventually got stuck running around in the dunes and when I was reversing out, uphill, I got a lot of thumping noises etc. Everything was underload and progress was slow with a lot of wheelspin, the sand was soooo soft. It sounded like the front suspension moving around. Anyone else get this, normal???

I also noticed I get it running over corrugations in the sand, sounds like the door isn't fully closed and is thumping around but I don't think it's that, I'm fairly confident it's the suspension somewhere (also got it when I had the 225/75's on it). Anyway it's a 2000 XJ Sport, still under warranty, so if there's anything anyone thinks I should checkout I'd appreciate it while it still won't cost me.

Cheers
Steve

I would guess that it only happens under heavy load in soft sand. It is axle tramp!
Need sifter shocks or springs that have a higher rate.

I was thinking the same sort of thing and since the shocks and springs are standard at the momemt it's only a matter of time/money before I swap them out.

Cheers

What Jeep do I drive?: CJ
Default Clunks and thumps

I kinda get the same noise.. but when I go over some table tops speed reducer thingys (jumps) or driveway entrances or potholes. Very annoying. Sounds and feels like it comes from the front upper arm mount. But jeep doesn't know what it is.. will keep you posted!

Cheers!
