Default Bill Loneskie again-now in Weipa-more queries etc-help!

Hi,
Moved now from WA to Weipa Qld at the cape. looks like I will have the only Jeepy here, see how we go?
By the looks of things, I will need a snorkel for my 2000WJ limited- surely one can be modified by one of the snorkel mobs?
Also need a second hand bar, either bull or nudge- no big boomers here app, but pigs crocs etc (croc bar?), seriously they do get run over on the road at times! Mainly for placing rod holders etc.Any ideas of second hand gear etc please?
Some of you must have driven in this country- any ideas for reliability and longevity, things I should do etc- remember-Cape York country! Should I go for engine mods etc or reliability first? I am a stubborn bastard and wish to prove a point in amongst the cruisers and patrols- do you think I can do it- I also have the only wolfhounds in Weipa as well as jeep!
Bill, all the best.

Crikey Bill...you get around a bit m8.
Can't offer much advice other than keep the tyre pressures up 40+ so you minimise staking side walls.....don't know what rubber you have but I'd be lookin' at replacing the Wranglers if you still have them. No roos around weipa hey , I'll be buggered...musta been eaten out m8....

I wouldn't be fiddling with motor. As far as longevity, always have plenty of grog around, oh and the usual......spare radiator hoses and water.

When you come across the flocks of major Mitchells and budgies sitting on the road ...... slow down....they are too stupid to move and will break your head lights, spotties, grille etc if you hit them at speed. The blood dries instantly on the hot metal and is a real pain in the ass to clean off.

hth's and good luck......and post up some pics from the area.

ps....you are deep in landcruiser territory.....keep a low profile...let them do all the skiting .......and let the Jeep do all the talking....that way you have nothing to lose, only they do.
