Default Beach run to Cervantes/Pinacles

Anyone interested in a beach run to the Pinacles this weekend on either sat or sun. Will just be a day trip with a stop off somewhere for picnic lunch. Looks like it will probably be sun at this stage but if there is a lot of people wanting to go on sat it can be changed.
Everone can meet at my place in Quinns Rocks and we can go in convoy from there. We will hit the beach at Lancelin and then just keep going. I have never been myself but it should be a fun day. I will post meeting times once the majority of people have had a say on whether sun is ok or whether they would prefer sat. I will pm people with my address if they want to come.

Shift work I hate it!!! I have to work all weekend .
I have done the run you are planing to do, it was good fun. If you come back down the beach it makes it a long day but well worth it or come back down the Brand Hwy, then cut back into Lancelin and home (faster).
Have fun in the sun.............

Just make sure you have a look at the tides, I went one weekend & it was great lots of beach to drive on. Enjoyed it so much I went back the next weekend on my own & it was a horror show. Tide was in, no beach to drive on . Had to take the dunes...... Not a bad option but the dunes had 'moved' across the tracks & were impassable, a wall of white!!! So down to the beach it was, driving on my sidewalls (due to the slope on the sholder of the dune near the beach) all the way into Lancelin. On my own the old pucker valve had me stuck fast to the drivers seat.

Sounds like an adventure. Will be going regardless and seeing what its like on the day. If its too crappy and cant go through we will probably spend the day at lancelin and go for a swim and a play in the dunes

Well yesterday was an awesome day. Hit the beach at Lancelin and followed it all the way through past Wedge Island. A few k's after Wedge you have to come off the beach to go around some rocky coastline until you hit Grey and can then hit the beach again. From there it was smooth sailing along the beach all the way to the Pinacles. The way there took quite a while because we kept stopping to look at different things but on the way back it was a hell of a lot quicker. Most of the beach was flat and we sat on an average of 60kmph.

It was absolutely beautiful driving along the beach. The sea breeze was in keeping it cool. Jacinta even had to put her jumper on as she got cold. We were a bit worried it might be too hot but it ended up being really nice. Have a couple of pics which i will have to put up later.
