Ahhh that reminds me of the good old days spending days or a week camping up near Rainbow Bay, back when you could sit on the beach for 3 days and maybe see 3 or 4 cars. Shame it's all a 4wd highway now for every tradie bloke and his new Ford Ranger to go screaming up and making a mess of it all How quiet was it there at Stradbroke?
I like that roof rack too btw. I haven't looked into roof racks for these Jeeps AT ALL, but I thought they might use the stock roof racks for attachment. How does that one work, it's clipped onto the side gutter trim molding or something?

If you could post a pic, I'd be happy to see what your shade of patriot blue is. My 95 is patriot blue apparently but is a bit past it. My orange peel was horrid. I used 2000-3000 grit sandpaper to get rid of it, then cut it back with my DA and meguiars ultimate compound.

Haha yeah, I remember as a kid you’d be lucky to pass two or three rigs along main beach, but on some weekends it’s like a highway.
It’s a great rack solid as a rock and doesn’t make noise on the highway, however I’m going to be putting it up for sale, it’s not going to suit my next camping set up. I can give you a shout next time I’m up the sunny coast way if you’d like. [emoji4][emoji1303]

Here you go. I've played with shadow and exposure settings on this pic (it was pretty dark and didn't show much) and as a result you can really see the panels I've buffed. I did maybe 3x 400 Heavy Cut, 1x swirl remover and 1 x sealer with the orbital.
The colour changes a fair bit with light but dark blue pretty much describes it. Is that the same as the 1995 Patriot Blue?.
I wonder if it has ever been polished at all. The contrast is amazing, and I haven't really done a paint correction, more of a quick polish.

Hey XJ peeps, been a long time between posts on AJOR for me as I’ve had a challenging personal journey, and so has the XJ.
Most recently, just got it pink slipped at the end of the 3 month grace period last October and then the motor developed a loud knock 2 weeks later. It was parked up and between moving back to Sydney from the Blue Mountains and a big overseas trip only just trailered down a fortnight ago.
So last weekend, I pulled the motor down to find that the knock was from a demolished piston skirt on no 5... more to come.
