Well Ive finally got myself an rc. Ive just taken ownership of a HPI Wheely King 4x4. Was testing it out today, it has pretty good stock articulation and is a little rocket. Im going to set it up for rock crawling duties moreso than high speed stuff, so first mods will be diff locks, a chassis flip and a jeep body. Thanks to Jay (JSJEEP) for picking it up for me. Heres some pics...
welldone what are you makeing the body from?
its looking good by the way

the body is made from sheet metal. Atm it is held together with super glue and thats working well. I may end up soldering the underbody to make it a little stronger, but that might not be needed. Updated pics from working on it tonight.
ok some updates... ive redone the bonnet and extended it. It now fits the rc nicely and looks more like a willys. It has all been sanded and painted, just working on details that will make it more realistic. Heres some piks...
next will be the windscreen and if I have enough time I might do a rear roll bar, tools, dash etc.

Ok so done a bit more work on it... upgraded the servo and remounted it to the diff for better steering, also added steel steering arms as the plastic ones lost to much response. Also added a 55T motor for better crawling control.
Ive added a stinger bar and rollcage to the body, also decided to rough up the body a little with faded marks and scratches.
