What Jeep do I drive?: MB
Talking thinking or modifying my ford gp?

Hi all.

I have a ford gp and thinking of modifing her cus she naked and all ready modified.

i would like to have: 4bt T18 dana20 on Fj40 axles or
4bt T18 LT95 (landrover/rangerover transfercase 3.3:1) onFJ40 axles

any ideas on axles- had an ofer of dana 60 front /80 back but was told they would be to big- dana 80 is 11/5 inch ring and axles rated for 10,000 ft/lbs of torque not bad at least they wont break with 33/35 tyers.

cuase of the 4bt rpm band of about 2300 rpm i might have to drop/raise the back ratio to 3.5 of lower- no lower then 3.00

if you can think of a ratio between on Fj40/dana axles love to here it.

by the way the 4bt is:

Cummins 4bt
3.9-4 liter.
4 cylnder-like the dodge motor minus 2 cylnders
105-120hp
296-350 ft/lbs of torque @ 1700 rpm 90% avalibly at idle!
350,00 miles/560,000 garented before overhual from factory or 3500 hrs @ 50% load
$4500 with turbo 400( too long for jeep) will sell or give to jeeper!

not wanting to mod jeep too mutch as have the FJ40/45 axles in it

cuase it is cummins engine all dodge ford jeep amc gmc chev and ih bellhouseing work anf fit

mate. i was having a chat to ray wolfe who's a good mate with gary hammonds (hammonds 4wd) today and his got the same block. Cummins 4bt on a J10 chassis, D60, D44 with a T400 and a ford overdrive box. This thing is a beast. Doesnt look much outside but once you see under the hood its awesome and it sounds like a truck. Dont remember all the details coz there was that many things his done to it that i got lost. One thing he did say was when you put your block, its gotta sit on an angle or else your gearbox will be on its side. Apparently its better on fuel than a 360 but will use more when you give it some.
