hello
im looking at buying a xj for some fun
bit of background my last 4wd was a sierra that had 7.50r16 underneath it with no lift, spaced bumpstops and anything that the tyres touched got cut or hammered out of the way.i like to keep my 4wds as low as possible with the largest tyres i can fit.

question is can i fit them under a stock xj with plenty of hammering and cutting and spaced bumpstops? or am i just dreaming? as most of the posts i read it seemed that the tyres width caused most of the rubbing not so much to do with the height

7.50 measure approx 31.6" in diamater

thank you

it'll tuck up in there for sure but may rub when steering, so a minor trim may be involves. you WILL notice the gearing loss on accelleration.

i am probably going 235/85 16's (same diameter) or 31/10.5/15, whichever is cheaper

Better make sure you use factory offset rims(Limited). Most 750R16 tyres are tube type...'Cruiser tyres will have the wrong valve stem,so you'll be up for new tubes with a TR13 stem.

I predict costs will blow out.Easier to find s/hand 10R15's cheap, and stuff them on factory 15"x7" rims.

Limited rims are only 15's as well. ZG/J Grand Limited rims are 16's
