Knob!!!!

has anyone had success swapping the auto t shifter with the knob off a manual car in such a way that tou push down on the knobto engage drive reverse etc?

i know the t can be pulled off leaving a vertical arraingement (steel tube with nylon inserty thing that goes down shift lever).


i have a custom knob i want to use thats why....:cool:

I recall a holden I used to have with an inline floor shifter where you needed to press down to engage 1st/rev. It was a PITA.

I had an LX Torana with such a shifter I liked it, T-bars are/were so common it was nice to have something different! :mrgreen:


Shouldn't be too difficult to rig your "performance" knob to suit an automatic selector instead ;)

Valiants used have what looked like an "8" ball shifter, I had one and found it was not particularly user friendly....
