I have a 2000 xj with the following issues
Starting a month ago the car just stopped on the way home from canberra as if its run out of fuel wouldnt restart back fired, a day latter its started again since then had the car looked at mechanics have no idea.( it showed the codes for tps map sensors) replaced the tps problem still persists
1. At idel the car will on ocasion hold 1500 rpm then miss and want to die turn ignition on and of again goes away have replaced the the throttle position sensor made no difference.
2. Also have had some realy bizzare gear changes under heavey acceleration changed into overdrive for no reason then went back to third a moment latter
3. While diving it will miss and behave if the timing is out (to far retarded over fuel and just bog down) the all of a suden come good
Have done the bellow
1.Tested the map sensor Tps and all earths run it on a osiloscope and had a three/Four gass anayliser run checked out perfect.
All the iteam that have registered a fault code are on the same circuit the only common denominator iteam is the pcm the mechanics said it was running very hot
Does it sound like the pcm would cause the problem?
Were and how do i get one?
Can you reflash an old one ?
Any good people to see in sydney about diagnostics?
