Transfer Case Half Seal Oil Leak!!

Hi,

My tranfer case on my 94 xj has a bad oil leak at the half seal. Is there an easy way to replace the seal without taking the entire transfer case off the vehicle?

I wonder if he means the middle of the casing or the extension housing that the 95's and 95's have?

I dunno JJ. That's why I asked for a pic. So I can see what he is talking about. It may be from the rear cover, the front or rear shaft or between the transfer and box.....If not be more specific where the leak is.

sorry fellas i ment between the front and rear cover.. but after further investigation it was the transmission pan gasket that was leaking. the oil had flowed down over the transfer case so i thought it was coming from there.. i changed the gasket and the fillter whille i was in there.. the problem has been fixed.
