Has anyone fitted one if these to their XJ? I've heard of other types being modified to fit fir clearance are the Solid ones the same?

Yep, plenty have fitted, you need to grind the fins away to clear the panhard but you still have plenty of meat left. Not an issue just a hassle.

i did mine too, for a TJ, but ver similar.
Take lots off and allow room for flex. and DONT do ti when its on the car, massive pain in the ass!

Just got one for me 8.25 rear diff in me XJ.From Rufstuff in the US.Cost $186 delivered.I have a Solid Axle one on the front that needed grinding to allow fitting and flexing.The rufstuff one is twice as sturdy and comes with recessed allen bolts, a steel fill plug,not a rubber bung and a drain plug.
I personally like the Riddler diff covers
