If anyone is interested in installing some extra bass in their TJ, I have designed a ported subwoofer enclosure for two 8" subs that is a great mix of performance and efficiency.

I can either manufacture one for you, or provide the plans if you have the tools for the job.

This isn't just a few bits of MDF thrown together with a bit of pipe sticking out, it's been designed with the following aspects:

- Tuning is at 38.5 Hz. Perfectly suited to the Rockford Fosgate subs I am running.

- Down firing with ports facing the rear to maximise output in an SUV

- Efficient use of space behind the seat with less than 1.6 cu.ft used

- Inner ports are situated with a minimum 2" of clearance between the inner walls and subwoofers, such that turbulent air flow is avoided and hence better sound quality

- Ports are sized in order to minimise port noise from excess air velocity

- Internal bracing and 16mm MDF prevents box flex, increasing output

This combination works great with a range of music. I listen to mostly rock or trance music, and the output is unreal for both!

just make sure that both subs are running off the same channel if there they are not in their own sealed box... and what program you draw them up in? looks good!

Yeh of course, running them parallel to load the mono-block amp down to 2ohms.

I use CATIA. Makes everything parametric, so changing things is super easy!
