Rattle on take off

Not sure if this happen to anyone else but the old 97' manual has started to shake and rattle on take offs. Have no idea where to start

if the trans is shaking most probably your trans mount...

of if the car shakes upon rapid acceleration its most probably engine mounts...

best to start there...

sounds like your transmission mount i just did mine and it would shake the gear stick when crawling under extreme load or taking of from stand stil.

how bad is it and does it only do this whilst the clutch is engaging because it could be as simple as oil or grease on ur clutch causing clutch shudder

it definitely happens under load. it has also happened when changing at a fast speed. shakes pretty bad. my steering wheel shakes like crazy as well.

my clutch is also making a funny sound when i engage it. didnt know if that was a problem as well

Jump under the jeep and pry the transfer case at the rear, away from the transmission skid plate. it should have minimal movement.


easiest way to check and egnine mount is with a mate.

That will elminate both of those from your list atleast.
