Engine Probs

Hi Everyone, After a bit of advice from someone in the know...

I own a 97 TJ and have never had any problems. Regular services etc

Driving home tonight after I had taken off after being stopped at lights I lost all power on acceleration with revs bouncing all over the place. Pulled over and still not running smooth while stopped and not under load. Turned engine off had a quick look for anything obvious in the dark but couldnt see anything (from what i can see into my bonnet without a step haha). Turned it back on and it ran fine the rest of the way home (only 2km from home by this stage) anyone have any ideas on what I should look for/check?

I had similar probs, which slowly became a regular ocurance, then left me stranded after a number of months. A mate also had similar prob.
Both resolved when fuel pump and filters replaced.
Unsure if just filters would have fixed, but when I had the tank out I did both :-)
