Calliper overhaul

Almost completed the calliper overhaul on my front brakes but the dust seal is giving me grief. It won't push in square with the tools I have.

Has anyone got a tip for getting it to sit square?

the FSM calls for a special tool. My local brake shop had a crack at it but also failed and said the special tool is essential - I'm not convinced it is.

Sorted it. I realised that the old dust seal had a mud mark higher than where I should actually seat it, so I'm satisfied that it is as far into the caliper as necessary.
