Grab the parts manual, it will answer a lot of questions and if you get the different years manuals you can compare the different models...

Funny, I fitted one off my '96 on my 2000 a couple of weeks back, didn't notice any differences at the time - & not noticed anything since.

Ok I had a look through the parts manuals, the 94,95,96,97,98,99 & 01 use a rotor with the part # 52008440, the 00 model uses a rotor with the part # 5016434AA.

This seems to differ from what others have said....

Rotors and unit bearings are a match..... dont know about xj but tj changed sometime in 99..... as long as your rotor year matches your unit bearing year your all good....
Today I fitted my 00 unit bearings and rotors to a 97 diff.....

Mine is a 99 so maybe was the change over year.

If my "2000" was built in '99 - which seems quite likely - that would explain it.

(hate to have a real 2000 though, with not only rotor, but a bearing, that was fitted for one year only!)
