A little while ago i noticed a rattle from the bell housing at idle when warmed up. Took the inspection plate off and tightened the flex-plate - torque converter bolts as heaps of people have done in the forums. Didn't really make the noise quit. Lately at low RPM (1500 and below) when in 4th and locked up i get a louder and louder rattle from what must be the same place. I wonder whether my torque converter is on the way out ? I did check the flex plate for cracks when i tightened the bolts and couldn't see any. Acceleration seems fine and when cruising at 100 and locked up everything seems fine. If i did have to replace the torque converter am i just looking at a standard remanufactured AW4/A340 26 spline 4 pad job or can i get something better ? Got a 95 limited XJ
