Hi Gents.

I have an 1995 XJ cherokee sport. The mods so far include an 8" lift, 8.8" rear diff, 37" tyres and a few other mods that are not really relating to the question.

The rear diff is dealing with all its off road punishment so far, but I have gone through 2 front diffs already (ring and pinion gear).

What options are you guys aware of for a front diff upgrade?

I have done extensive searches on here and the web and I could find no useful information.

Cheers in advance, Ben.

37's limits the options quite a bit unless the wallet is deep ;) D60 up front maybe, big pumpkin though. Maybe a beefed up D44. Are you looking for bolt in as I dont think you'll find anything. Patrol diff might be the best option.

Cheers
Steve

I want to see pics of this beast. 8in lift and 37s will be a sight to behold!

How do the shafts hold up with that sort of lift? what have you done to the guards so the tyres will not foul? Cant wait to see it.

ok guys ill try and put some pics up, once i figure out how haha
the fronts rub a lil on full lock, and rears rub on flex or hard bump, we kinda just took a small mallet to the rear inner guards as this is just for off roading.

You need a front diff from an 80's model waggy and weld the mounts on.
Talk to Wayne at jeepford on the Gold coast he can make you one.

Man that looks killer, and seriously natural sitting that high and mighty.

Must be a ball to go for a spin in ;)

Thanks, yeh it goes really well off road (nic named "the patrol recovery vehicle")
on road it is rather floaty with the tyres but not too much of a hand full.

This video was taken on the latest trip out with the boys from 4x4 Adventure (Facebook)

Thanks for the help, going to look into a GQ Patrol diff, or a D44 (if i can find one)

Hi mate,
I have a patrol diff that I converted for my xj that I am going to sell soon. I run 38 swampers on it offroad and 37 MTR's on. If you are still looking at upgrading and are interested, let me know. I can send pics.

Cheers,

Nick
