XJ auto box not shifting??

Hey all,

Just had the guy that bought my old 96 XJ earlier this year contact me and ask if I could help with a gearbox problem.

He's checked all oils and changed oil in transmission and can get it into first gear and reverse but will not go up through the other gears manually or auto.

So what could it be? Solenoid? Linkages?:?:

Shift solenoids rarely go, so thats unlikely,
I strongly suspect it's your TPS, throttle position sensor.
It directly effects gear changes, will it bounce off the limiter, or haven't you pushed it that far?
Mine would only shift at 4750 when it went :shock:
