Hey guys I'm currently running 3 inch lift in my xj cherokee

Consists of coils in the front and extra leaves in rear

I'm keen to add 1 inch to front and 2 inches to rearvwith a coil spacer and shackle extensions

Firstly what else needs to be changed when the car get that high?

I know brake lines do, pan hard rod? Control arms? Tail shaft?

After some general advice and kits

Cheers

Not exactly sure what it is was done by previous owner

It's iron man shockers n front springs I think

Not sure on the rear.
The lead shackles Areca but bigger then standard n there are more leaves

Firstly as soon as you use any sort of lift that isn't done by springs, ie shackles, spacers etc any lift gained by this method is the same amount you need to extend the bump stops by to prevent damage to the springs, so if you use extended shackles that give a 2" lift you need to extend the stops by 2"...

You will almost certainly need a SYE and a double cardan tail shaft (let me know if you want one as I can supply and ship one to you)

You will also need to address the panhard rod length and most likely relocate it to prevent binding.

Aftermarket control arms will also be required otherwise you will have zero downtravel left as well as longer swaybar link pins to keep the geometry all correct...

Now if you have extended shackles now from what I read

"The lead shackles Areca but bigger then standard"

Then you will need to know how much these are longer then stock to work out how much lift you are currently gaining by shackles and IMHO extended shackles on a uni body vehicle like the Xj is just asking for trouble from cracks due to the extra stress applied by these shackles on flexing....

Definetly 3 inches in front
Might not be ironman springs

Sounds good jungle juice
What are other methods of raising the rear end? More leaves?

Different leaves with a bigger arc is the better method of lifting.....

ill agree that going over bored with shackle lift isnt good. but 1inch lift ones help flex with out incressing pressure to much

Do it properly, get rid of the transfer case drop as that robs ground clearance, fit a SYE and you will never look back....

Slip yoke eliminator

Looks pretty good set up

My transfer case is the sealed type with no oil ring seal out back

I can get the number off it

with the swaybar links just get some swaybar disconects because they are usaly 2-4inch longer that standard links

If so they are the easiest to do....
