View Full Version : TJ Auto skid advice

So the higher I lift, the worse the DS angle is. Obviously. I'm having a problem with the front shaft hitting the skid to the auto box on droop. From what I can tell this is an issue for late models.

So far I've spaced it and cut a notch out of it but it still connects now an then.

I don't want to take it off and cutting the arm off will lose a lot of structural integrity.

What have people done in this situation? Can't find a decent aftermarket skid either, they all seem to be for JKs

most just cut and hope for the best. I had a black 05 tj with 4.5" re lift in work the other day the owner had changed his front diff to a high pinion dana 30 from a 95 xj to fix his front shaft from hitting skid

Cut it off completely? I'd be worried that this will make it easy to push up/into the box and potentially be worse than not having it on at all

I have the AEV tummy tucker on my 2001 tj, i think the one for later tj dose away with that part alltogether
