Hey guys,

Going to change the transfer case fluid, I've got an 03 TJ sport auto. Just wanted to know what fluid to use and how much fluid to use? And lastly any other useful info for doing this job.

Cheers

remove the fill plug prior to removing the drain plug.
ATF +3 or +4 is specified by Jeep only because that is what is used in their autos and to prevent fluid mix ups, but any ATF fluid will do.
Dexron III being a common choice as readily available and does the job well

according to the manual the drain and fill plug needs to be torque'd to 20-34nm, I dont have a torque wrench so I could I just tighten it back up as close to what it was previously and it should be ok?

the plugs will feel probably feel as tight as a @#$%^&, so when re-tightening just nip them up firm, not overtight as so many people seem to do
