lately i've noticed a clunk which sounds like its coming from the left hand rear of the car when sitting in the drivers seat, have a feeling it may be the lower control arm bushes. they appear to have a bit of play in them but i'm not sure if this is normal or not? is there anything else this could possibly be that is common too jeeps?
EDIT: sorry it is an 05 jeep wrangler tj, with a 6 speed transmission.
have also checked unis and they seem fine as i recently replaced one of them

I had that once. My problem was a shock absorber bushing that was flogged out.

My lower control arm upper bushings were slogged out, there was a clunk when taking off from stand still. Couldnt tell till I removed the arms. Also my rear shock has slipped off its bushing, (bushing is deformed) but that just makes a rattling sound when im on rough terrain. Id go with new control arm bushings mate.

Sure sounds like control arm bushing but it wouldn't hurt to check your wheel nuts too.

ill get one of the mechanics at work to throw it on the hoist this weekend and check them and see what they reckon.
hopefully its just the control arm bushes wouldnt be too hard to replace
